And then Yuu gets REALLY MAD for Glen getting in the way!! of his revenge!! And Glen complains, he can't understand a kid's language, so Yuu yells about how HE'S NOT A KID HE PRACTICES SWINGING HIS SWORD TEN THOUSAND TIMES A DAY. And that he wants a real sword that can kill vampires, not this wooden crap!
But nah, he's not ready, Glen knows what it means to be ready to go out to war and it's not this shit. Yuu's a tiny baby who's shittily weak and only thinks about revenge, he can't even protect anyone.
And Glen explains, there is another purpose for learning how to use a sword aside from revenge, and that's protecting others. And if Yuu can't find that, if Yuu can't find something he wants to protect, he'll never become strong.
Yuu complains that he has nothing to protect anymore, his parents abandoned him, the family he made in an orphanage all died, there is nothing for him to protect anymore and he--starts crying. Glen says he's not allowed a weapon and that's the end of this talk and he's out of here.
And the next thing Yuu knows, there's an alarm going off, a vampire's in the city, and he runs the fuck out of there to go after it with his wooden sword. He finds a vampire going after a little girl and. stops to think about how it has NOTHING TO DO WITH HIM but then he jumps out in front of her to protect her anyway.

Memory:Here. Summary: Successfully exorcised a demon! Yay! And so did Kimizuki! But Yoichi had problems exorcising his, apparently. . because he's been possessed and turned into a maneater. Which is bad enough as it is but--Glen's telling Yuu and Kimizuki to get rid of him, too. It doesn't help that "Yoichi" is saying he's going to kill them all, either. And starts to attack them.
Glen is very obviously nnnot giving a shit about Yoichi being a maneater, either. At least at first! And that's not cool, yo. YUU REFUSES TO KILL YOICHI, HE REFUSES! And Glen tells him that IF HE DIDN'T JUST COME HERE FOR REVENGE, if he came here to fight, he needs to do his duty as a soldier and put Yoichi down. But Yuu won't. Yuu would never. He makes an attempt to fight Yoichi, but makes sure not to go after him in a way that would harm him! Yoichi means more to him than that. And he's absolutely broken up that Yoichi's been possessed, that Yoichi isn't coming back, that even though he's fighting him and trying so hard to get him to come back to his senses, Yoichi isn't. He won't abandon his friends again, he won't be no better than vampires, he refuses.
So he drops his sword. Proclaims HE WON'T KILL HIS FRIENDS, and Yoichi won't either. And that if Yoichi, like him, watched his family die, he'd never be able to kill his friend!
AND GLEN SPEAKS UP which is good thanks Glen, tells Yoichi to wake up and protect his friends! To not remain under his bed and watch his family die again. IT WORKS. Yoichi comes back to his senses and tackle-hugs Yuu while crying gross huge tears, Glen tsuns, Yuu awkwardly hugs Yoichi back. Glen tells Yoichi he has a reason to live! He tells him not to let revenge blind him. And that these people, his teammates, are his new family. Live for them-- Yuu, too.

If they manage to escape him, they'll get out. Yuu tells the rest of the kids to run, towards the exit, to get away. He and Mika will keep Felid busy while they escape.
But Felid slaughters every single one of them in front of Mika and Yuu. Mika tells Yuu to give him the gun, he'll distract Felid and let Yuu escape at the cost of his own life. Yuu won't accept that though, and Mika tells him that they're all part of the same family--right before taking off to attack Felid on his own. And Yuu can't deal with that.
Mika tries, but Felid gets the best of him. He receives a bad wound to his chest and loses an arm--and Yuu's right there behind Felid. He aims the gun for Felid's head, and fires. But it's too late. Mika's bleeding out, the rest of the orphans are dead. The only one left with a chance to survive is Yuu.
Mika tells Yuu to leave, but he refuses. Says that they have to leave together. But there are more vampires coming for them, and they're running out of time. Yuu cries, trembles as he holds onto Mika, tells him he can't leave by himself. . now that he finally had a family. He can't abandon them. But Mika pushes him away.
Gritting his teeth, Yuu gets up and makes a run for it. He doesn't want to, not at all. He doesn't want to be alone doesn't want to leave Mika wants. . to be with Mika, with the rest of the kids. But he'll die if he stays, he knows. And Mika doesn't want their sacrifice to be in vain. So he'll go. As painful and heart wrenching as it is, he'll find the outside. Sobbing and screaming, he'll make it.
